This Sugi DH496C 5AQM/AT/BSBK 2010 is a rare, high-end Japanese electric guitar featuring exceptional hand-selected woods, meticulous craftsmanship, and Sugi’s distinctive carved-body design.

The instrument features a highly figured 5A quilted-maple top with a dramatic BSBK burst finish. Its Aqua Timber neck wood gives the guitar a particularly distinctive appearance and character. Aqua Timber refers to old-growth wood preserved underwater for an extended period before being recovered and prepared for instrument building. Sugi has used Aqua Timber maple and mahogany on select custom instruments. 

The DH496C platform combines a comfortable carved body, a compact 24.7” scale length, and premium Japanese hardware. Sugi instruments are handcrafted in Nagano, Japan, with an emphasis on carefully selected materials and individual construction rather than mass production. 

This Sugi DH496C (2010) is in good condition and has some dents and other normal cosmetic signs of use. These marks do not detract from the guitar’s striking figured woods or its overall quality.
