This Martin D-42 2023 — also searched as D42 2023, Martin D 42 Standard, or D-42 acoustic — is a flagship dreadnought model combining powerful projection with high-end aesthetics.

Built with a solid spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, the D-42 delivers a rich, piano-like low end, clear mids, and shimmering highs. The dreadnought body provides strong volume and headroom, making it ideal for strumming, flatpicking, and stage performance.

Part of the Standard Series, it features forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing, enhancing resonance, sustain, and responsiveness. The tone is both powerful and refined, with excellent dynamic range.

The D-42 stands out visually with extensive abalone trim, including top inlay, rosette, and snowflake fingerboard inlays, along with gold open-gear tuners — placing it just below the iconic D-45 in Martin’s lineup.
