This Martin D-18VS Vintage Series from 2005 — also searched as Martin D18VS, Martin D 18 VS, Martin D-18 Vintage Series, used Martin D-18VS, or Martin 12-fret dreadnought — is a highly desirable vintage-inspired model combining traditional Style 18 construction with the powerful, open response of a 12-fret dreadnought.

Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid genuine mahogany back and sides, the D-18VS delivers the classic Martin mahogany voice with strong fundamentals, dry woody mids, clear trebles and a deep, resonant bass response.

A key feature of this model is its 12-fret body design, which places the bridge deeper into the lower bout than on a standard 14-fret dreadnought. This gives the top a different vibrational character and contributes to the D-18VS’s powerful, open and responsive sound.

The Vintage Series specification includes scalloped X-bracing, a Modified V neck, wide 1 3/4” (44.5 mm) nut, ebony fingerboard and bridge, slotted headstock and traditional vintage-style appointments. The result is a guitar with a distinctly old-school Martin feel and excellent dynamic range.
