This Martin D-18V Vintage Series from 2003 — also searched as Martin D18V, Martin D 18V, Martin D-18 Vintage Series, used Martin D-18V, or Martin mahogany dreadnought — is a highly regarded vintage-inspired model that combines classic Style 18 construction with traditional pre-war-inspired appointments.

Built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, the D-18V delivers the dry, woody and articulate sound associated with a great mahogany dreadnought. It offers strong fundamental notes, punchy mids, clear trebles and a tight, responsive bass, making it an excellent choice for flatpicking, strumming, country, bluegrass, folk and singer-songwriter playing.

A key feature of the D-18V is its forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing, which gives the top a more open and responsive character than the standard D-18 of the same period. The result is greater bass response, projection and dynamic range while retaining the clarity and focus that make mahogany Martins so distinctive.
