The Martin 0-18 has been part of Martin's history since 1898, and this 2018 example is a fine modern version of a true classic. Small in size but big in voice, the Martin 018 has been a favourite of songwriters, fingerpickers and recording artists for generations.

This 0-18 Standard is built with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. The top uses scalloped X-bracing with non-scalloped tone bars, giving a lively, responsive sound with surprising volume for its size. The tone is warm, focused and balanced, with a strong midrange, clear trebles and excellent string-to-string separation.

The compact single-0 body sits comfortably against the body. That makes the Martin 0 18 a joy to play on the sofa, at the desk, on the road or in the studio. Its clear, defined voice records beautifully and leaves room for vocals and other instruments in a mix. It's particularly well suited to fingerstyle, blues, folk and singer-songwriter playing.

The 24.9" short scale and 1 3/4" nut width give a relaxed, comfortable feel. The modified low oval neck profile sits naturally in the hand for both chords and fingerpicking.
