The Gibson J-45 is Gibson's best-selling acoustic of all time, nicknamed "The Workhorse" since its introduction in 1942. The 50s J-45 Original brings back the details of the golden-era 1950s models. This 2023 Gibson 50s J45 in Vintage Sunburst combines that classic look with a fuller neck and modern stage-ready electronics.

It has a round-shoulder body with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. Traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing gives a lively, responsive top with the warm, woody and punchy voice the J-45 is famous for: tight bass, rich mids and a dry, earthy character that sits perfectly behind a vocal.

What separates this Gibson J-45 Original from the Standard is its vintage-correct details:

• a fuller round neck profile
• the larger '50s-style tortoise pickguard instead of the teardrop
• Grover strip tuners with cream buttons
• a bone nut and saddle

The mahogany neck has a 24.75" scale, a 1.725" nut and a 12" radius rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays. A factory-fitted LR Baggs VTC pickup with discreet soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls makes the guitar ready for stage and studio.
