This 1962 Gibson ES-335 is a highly desirable early vintage example of Gibson’s legendary semi-hollow electric guitar. With its classic Cherry finish, original-era Patent No. humbuckers, and more than six decades of natural aging, this is both a serious player’s instrument and a highly collectible vintage Gibson.

The ES-335 combines a laminated maple semi-hollow body with a solid center block, giving it the warmth and resonance of a hollow-body guitar while retaining the sustain, definition, and feedback resistance required for higher-volume playing. The result is the unmistakable ES-335 sound: warm and woody cleans, rich blues tones, and smooth, singing overdrive.

A particularly important feature of this guitar is its Patent No. pickups. These early Gibson humbuckers are highly regarded for their open, dynamic response, clarity, and vintage character and are an important part of the sound of early-1960s Gibson electrics.

The guitar was previously fitted with a Bigsby vibrato, which has since been removed/replaced with the current stop-tailpiece setup. Evidence from the previous installation may remain, which is reflected in the guitar’s history and condition.

For a guitar dating from 1962, it remains in very good condition. It naturally shows lacquer checking, scratches, marks, and genuine playing wear accumulated over more than 60 years. Most importantly, there are no cracks, and the guitar remains structurally sound.
