Martin OM-28V (2005) – Vintage Series Orchestra Model with Forward-Shifted Scalloped Bracing
This Martin OM-28V (2005), also referred to as the OM28V or OM 28V, is part of Martin’s highly regarded Vintage Series, known for blending classic pre-war construction with modern playability and premium tonewoods. The result is a beautifully resonant and responsive instrument, ideal for both fingerstyle and flatpicking players seeking rich tonal balance and projection.
Constructed with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, this OM-28V produces clear trebles, warm mids, and deep, defined bass. The forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing enhances top vibration and sustain, offering exceptional dynamic range and nuance. Its modified V-shaped neck and 1 3/4” (44.5 mm) nut width provide a comfortable, traditional feel that suits both contemporary and vintage players alike.
This 2005 example is in excellent condition, with only minimal signs of use. It’s structurally sound, with no cracks or repairs, and delivers the mature, open tone expected from a well-aged Martin. Includes the original Martin hardshell case.
