The Martin D-28 Marquis (2015) is part of Martin’s prestigious Marquis Series, built to vintage pre-war specifications and offering exceptional craftsmanship and tonal depth. Inspired by the legendary 1930s D-28, this model delivers the full-bodied sound and projection that made Martin dreadnoughts the gold standard for acoustic guitars.
The D-28 Marquis features a solid Adirondack spruce top paired with East Indian rosewood back and sides, producing powerful volume, clear articulation, and remarkable dynamic range. Its forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing enhances resonance and responsiveness, giving it a rich and open tone suited for both flatpicking and fingerstyle playing.
The modified V neck profile with 1 3/4” nut width provides a classic yet comfortable feel, while vintage-style appointments—such as herringbone purfling, aging toner, and open-gear Waverly tuners—add timeless Martin elegance.
This 2015 D-28 Marquis is in excellent condition, showing only minimal signs of use. It comes complete with its original Martin hardshell case and is strung with Martin 13–56 phosphor bronze strings.
