The modern Martin 00042 is essentially a revival of a model discontinued in 1943. Interest in it soared after Eric Clapton played his 1939 000-42 on his 1992 MTV Unplugged performance.

This 000-42 Standard combines a solid Sitka spruce top with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides. The scalloped X-bracing gives a lively, dynamic response with rich bass, warm, complex mids and clear, sparkling trebles. Rosewood adds depth and harmonic richness, while the 000 body keeps the sound balanced, focused and articulate.
